We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity engineer to join our team. As a cybersecurity engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security infrastructure of our organization. You will work with our team to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate them. In this role, you will also be responsible for monitoring our network and systems for potential security breaches and responding to incidents as they occur. This is a remote position, with working hours to correspond with USA CST daytime hours.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in day-to-day information security operations, including monitoring, analysis, detection and escalation of security risks and threats to internal systems and business
  • Oversee vendor(s) who provide Managed Security Services
  • Developing and implementing security policies and procedures to safeguard computer networks and systems.
  • Conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security threats.
  • Configuring and maintaining security tools such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
  • Monitoring network traffic for suspicious activity and responding to security incidents.
  • Investigating security breaches and providing recommendations for improving security measures.
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals to ensure security protocols are integrated into all systems and applications.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends and making recommendations for security improvements.
  • Providing security training to employees to raise awareness of security risks and best practices

Experience & Qualification

  • At least five years of experience in IT/IS
  • At least two years of experience in cybersecurity focused role
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001.
  • Education – Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or educational equivalent. May substitute experience for a non-technical degree.
  • License/Certificates – One of Security +, CEH, CISM, GSEC, GCIH, GIAC, CISA, CISSP
