The Trading IT Analyst is responsible for supporting key business applications and associated interfaces used globally by the Fuels business. These applications enable our business to understand and manage risk in order to capitalize on commercial opportunities. The person filling the role will work as part of the global support team on base support, enhancements, projects, and business consulting as required.
Responsibilities
- Day to day tickets and requests (break fixes, configuration changes, etc.) – direct interaction with business customers for troubleshooting and assistance as needed
- Patches to vendor applications and accompanying infrastructure (e.g. deploy new software versions, manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure, interact with vendors, etc.)
- Enhancements to custom applications or components based on new business requirements – our analysts interact directly with business customers and architects and participate in the entire workflow requirements gathering, solution design, solution build, testing, implementation
- Development or rollout of new applications required by strategic business growth – e.g. selection and rollout of third-party application for a new business scenario, design and build of new systems or components required for new business capabilities
Requirements
- No candidates with only business experience – relevant IT experience is mandatory
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT-related fields
- 3+ years experience supporting SAP MM or SD modules
- 3+ years experience in end-user application support
- Good understanding of ABAP programming language for debugging and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional IT and business teams
- Experience with Agile practices (such as life cycle methodologies)
Nice to have
- Strong Advantage Working knowledge of Energy Trading Risk Management (ETRM) systems and asset-backed trading principles (e.g. position management, priced inventory, etc.)
- Working knowledge of Agile Frameworks (i.e. Scrum and Kanban)
- Experience with SAP HANA technology
- Ability to manage workload under time pressure and changing priorities
- Knowledge of business application product lifecycle (design, implementation, change management)
